Indexable and solid carbide tooling for milling, drilling, turning and threading. Made at plants with over 40 years of specialised experience in their own tool group. Familiar ISO geometry — the tool goes straight into the place of the one already in the machine.
What KARASAWA is
KARASAWA is a metal cutting tool brand in which ten groups cover the four main operations plus Swiss-type lathes: from roughing cuts in milling to finish reaming and parting off.
The idea is simple. A machine shop should not have to be assembled from four suppliers, and the process engineer should not have to check whether the insert pocket matches what arrived in a different box. Toolholder, insert, screw and key come from one source, on one price list and one delivery note.
We are not selling “unique technology” and we do not promise records. We answer for something simpler: the tool is there, it behaves predictably, and it can be reordered without starting the selection from scratch.
Foundations
These are not slogans for an “about us” page but the things a brand is judged on at the second and third delivery.
Common sizes are held in stock. The machine does not wait for a tool to arrive from another country: what is needed every day ships from stock, the rest is made to order. Availability of a specific item is confirmed in our reply to your enquiry, not by a promise on a website.
A grade stays the same grade. The substrate, the geometry and the coating are tied to the designation and do not change quietly from batch to batch. That is why the cutting data worked out on the first box still works on the fifth — and scrap does not appear where there was none yesterday.
Toolholder, insert, screw and key — all from one programme. You do not have to assemble a set from four suppliers and hope the pockets match. Fewer suppliers means fewer invoices, fewer delivery notes and fewer misunderstandings at the moment the tool is needed today.

The split between the plants is not accidental: each tool group is made where the process and the equipment for it are established. For the customer that means one thing — the level is not “averaged across the price list” but specific to each group.
Inserts and toolholders conform to the current ISO standards. That is a deliberate decision, not a saving on development: the tool has to go into the place of the one already in the machine, with no change of holders, no new keys and no reworking of the turret.
Moving to KARASAWA is not a project. It is a change of line item on a purchase order.
The bodies are engraved with their own designation, the insert type, the screw and the key size. When reordering you do not have to dig out the catalogue or guess from a worn part — just copy the code off the shank. A small thing that saves half a day of correspondence.
There are no prices on this site, no invented tool life figures, no unverified “case studies” and no other companies' trade marks in comparison tables. The price list and availability are supplied in reply to an enquiry — that way the data is always current as of the day of the conversation, not the day the page was laid out.
